comfort zone and live the life you truly desire.

About us aefrican journey

Build Incredible Lasting Memories

We are our memory, and our everyday experiences are largely controlled by subconscious processes. When we break free from the daily routine, we absorb much more from our surroundings via our common senses and weave these experiences into our memory bank. For example, if you take a nature walk during summer, you will notice the warmth of the sun on your face when you would normally not notice this if you were going about your extreme busy daily activities. We encourage you to continually honoring your dreams, do the things that you have always wanted to do and let the present moments flow by learning to live in the present.

DESTINATIONS

Incredible destinations we've been over the last 5 years.

After we traveled to Ocho Rio, Jamaica in 2016 and Negril Jamaica in 2018 and 2019 we knew we needed to make a change to our life style and travel. We enjoyed the culture, people and natural rainforest. We visited the majestic Dunn’s River Falls and trekked to the top of the 600ft waterfall where we enjoyed the surrounding views of the tropical landscape. We rode horses from land into the warmth of the Caribbean Sea. Caleb (husband) jumped off the cliff into the cool deep blue waters and we both watched a breathtaking sunset during our trip to Rick’s café in Negril.

Upcoming Trips

Trip To Africa

Africa, the land of majestic beasts, vibrant cultures, and the occasional warlord or two.

Picture this: a continent so large, you could fit the entire United States, China, India, and most of Europe inside of it. But don’t worry, it’s not all barren deserts and dense jungles. There are also plenty of thriving cities, bustling markets, and beautiful beaches.

Speaking of beaches, did you know that Africa is home to some of the most stunning coastlines in the world? From the pristine shores of Zanzibar to the surfing hotspots of Cape Town, there’s a beach for everyone.

And let’s not forget about the wildlife! Lions, elephants, giraffes, oh my! It’s like a real-life version of The Lion King, but without the catchy songs (although, if you’re lucky, you might hear some traditional African music).

But it’s not all fun and games. Africa has its fair share of problems too, like poverty, disease, and political instability. But hey, every family has their issues, right?

All in all, Africa is a fascinating and diverse continent full of surprises. So why not hop on a plane and come check it out for yourself? Just make sure to bring your sense of humor (and a good mosquito repellent).

There are few differences between the African and American continents, which contribute to their unique identities and cultures.

Size and geography: Africa is significantly larger than North America and South America combined. It is also home to a diverse range of landscapes, from the Sahara Desert to the tropical rainforests of the Congo Basin.

History and culture: Africa has a rich and complex history, with diverse cultures, languages, and traditions. Many African countries have experienced colonialism, slavery, and other forms of oppression, which have shaped their societies in unique ways. In contrast, the Americas have a shorter history, with a more dominant influence from European colonial powers.

Language: There are over 2,000 languages spoken in Africa, making it one of the most linguistically diverse regions in the world. In contrast, the Americas are dominated by Spanish and English, with other languages spoken in smaller pockets.

Economy: The economies of African countries are generally less developed and diversified than those of the Americas. While some African countries have abundant natural resources, they often struggle with issues such as corruption, poor infrastructure, and political instability.

Wildlife: Africa is famous for its diverse and iconic wildlife, such as lions, elephants, and giraffes, which are not found in the Americas. The Americas, however, have their own unique wildlife, such as jaguars, bison, and grizzly bears.

Our next adventure will be in Kenya, located in East Africa. Kenya is an absolute must-visit destination because the country has some of the most incredible natural wonders in the world, from the vast plains of the Masai Mara to the stunning shores of the Indian Ocean. When you visit Kenya, you will also have the opportunity to witness the great wildebeest migration, which is one of the most spectacular wildlife events on the planet and a chance to see some of Africa’s most iconic animals up close, including lions, elephants, and giraffes.

But Kenya is not just about wildlife. It’s also a country with a rich cultural heritage, with over 40 different ethnic groups each with their own unique traditions and customs. You’ll have the opportunity to visit local villages and learn about their way of life, sample traditional cuisine, and experience the vibrant music and dance performances. You can climb Mount Kenya, Africa’s second highest mountain, or go white water rafting on the Tana River. For those looking to relax and unwind, the white sandy beaches of the Kenyan coast offer the perfect opportunity to soak up the sun and enjoy the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.

Overall, For those seeking adventure, Kenya is the perfect destination that offers something for everyone. You simply can’t afford to miss it. For Tips On Traveling to Kenya, check out Traveling To Kenya Resource Portal

We are planning to travel to the Southeast and Northeast regions of United States in the near future. We look forward to setting foot in one of America’s most visited national park-Smokey Mountains, experiencing the diversity of fauna and flora, the beauty of the ancient mountains, and the Southern Appalachian mountain culture.

Washington DC is also on our list and although we may not see the cherry blossoms, we plan to see the Holocaust Museum, Lincoln Monument, and the Smithsonian zoo. A tour of the white house, the Capitol building, Library of Congress and Supreme Court would complement this trip.

We hope to see the 9/11 memorial in NYC, take a train over to Brooklyn and see the Botanical Gardens and Brooklyn Museum. walk over the Brooklyn Bridge and check out fantastic views of Manhattan across the river.

Find the Joy In Your Life and Hold on Tight

Do you feel you’re always in survival mode, living paycheck to paycheck, and have a lot of things on your bucket list and no choices available? Traveling inexpensively is very much possible and most of us dream about traveling the world and end up with a really long bucket list and a short diary. Time is something you can never get back and if you are able to travel at a young age, the adventures and memories made make a lasting impression in your life. One of the reasons why we chose to homeschool our kids and travel the United States was to use these experiences of travel and being on the road to shape them and help them understand their purpose in life.
This lifestyle simply looks at the needs of our family and how these needs can be fulfilled, the necessities of food, shelter, clothing, and access to medical supplies. You do not have to be rich to travel. You only need to be willing to try a different lifestyle other than what you have been conditioned or accustomed to.
